Weʼve raised £90 to Chloe has an infected womb needs emergency surgery. Was Dad's dog but he has just died. We thought she was just grieving but she was ill.

    Story

My Dad died on 31st March leaving his beloved dog Chloe in our care. Dad rescued her when she was a pup and they were inseparable friends. At first we thought she was just grieving with us but then she became lethargic and stopped eating. She started really crying this afternoon so we rushed her to the vet. The Ultrasound showed Chloe's womb to be full of pus. The vet told us she needed emergency life-saving surgery. We had to take her a further 20 miles to a different vet for this surgery that is being performed tonight. I am a disabled mostly housebound person and my husband is my carer. The vet is asking for £2000 and we just don't have that kind of money. We asked to pay in instalments but they said no it wasn't their policy. We love Chloe very much so we said yes to the surgery hoping we can somehow find the money. We would be grateful for any help anyone can give. Thank you from Verena & Paul

This photo is from 2 days ago. Will take another later to show the wonderful difference in her - from strength to strength already. Our heartfelt thanks to Chloe's lovely benefactors. The initial consultation which led to the diagnosis and life-saving treatment has been covered by your kind donations. Her little face looking up at me is sunshine to my soul even if she kept me up banging her cone against everything in sight and managed to get herself wedged between things a few times. The fact she is well enough to be up to mischief is priceless!

Good news. We had a call at 25 past midnight to say the operation went well and Chloe had woken up. Paul picked her up at 7 am from Canterbury and rushed her back to Thanet Pets at Home for drip and anti-biotics. Silly place didn't open until 9am. Thankfully Chloe coped with the wait. Paul is now home. Has left her there to have more fluids etc and we need to call them at 3pm to see if we can bring her home. Thanks for caring! Verena & Paul xxx
