    Story

Hello, my name is Fran & this photo is of me with my beautiful 11 year old daughter Philomena. We live in Devon with my husband Paul, two rescue greyhounds & a cat. I am writing this post to ask for your help as it may save my life. Needless to say, this would be of immeasurable value to myself, my little girl, our family & anyone who loves me. I would be exceptionally grateful to be met with your consideration.

I am only 43 years old but I have a stage 4 cancer diagnosis of secondary breast cancer which has spread to my liver. My life is in serious & immediate danger as the prognosis itself is terminal & the liver is an especially high risk location for the cancer. However, I have lived for a year with this diagnosis without it spreading beyond the liver to date & have surprised my treating clinicians with recent CT results which show a partial remission of the cancer in my liver. This is better than the expected trajectory for my illness.

These scan results came immediately after an intensive stay at Camphill Wellbeing Trust where I received treatment in the form of mistletoe therapy. For two weeks I had daily injections of mistletoe extract (Fraxini) & 3 IV doses of mistletoe extract which induced a fever. Mistletoe contains substances which can halt cancer growth & induce cell death. Mistletoe also strengthens & stimulates the bodys own immune defences to generate a response & fight the cancer.

I have felt a substantial change in well-being since the treatment & the most recent CT scan which was taken 1 week after my stay is very encouraging with the scope for further improvements in my health & overall prognosis with ongoing maintenance treatment using mistletoe extract.

I am looking to continue to treat this cancer with mistletoe therapy as a matter of urgency. I have booked my first monthly IV infusion for early January as I do not wish to jeopardise the momentum which has been gained through the use of this therapy so far. I will also maintain every other useful effort I can towards supporting my health including holistic support, macrobiotic diet & further medical opinion for an integrated approach.

The amount I am asking for will cover the cost of buying the mistletoe extract for weekly injections & will also pay the monthly clinic fee for receiving an IV mistletoe extract infusion. This does not cover other medical supplies or transport costs/ accommodation near the clinic. I will budget for these myself. This is the first year of an ongoing maintenance plan. Any help towards these medical costs is very much appreciated. I cannot express how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to have this treatment so far nor how grateful I will be to have the opportunity to continue. Thank you for your support. Updates in progress will be shared across the year ahead.

Dear Everyone I am very grateful to be able to say that my latest CT results (from Sept 1st) show a STABLE result. My Oncologist says that everything is completely unchanged since the previous CT scan (May 16th). I have a review with Camphill Wellbeing Trust next week. They oversee my mistletoe treatment & are where I was treated last year with IV infusions. I will re-visit JustGiving for fundraising again in the Autumn to see if we can aim to treat with mistletoe alongside my current chemo treatment for a further year. Thanks to you all x

Dear Supporters, Thank you for investing in caring about my health & the happiness of my family in a world full of so many competing demands. This is just a brief update to say that my latest CT results are stable, which is considered a very good thing in the secondary cancer setting. I am continuing with Mistletoe treatment throughout lockdown, with some adjustments due to COVID-19. If you have access to my personal FB page you will find more detail there Wishing you & all your families the very best in these tough times With Love x
