I really wish I was not in the position to have to set this page up, but our miniature Dachshund desperately needs your help!

In the last 24 hours (Friday 4th Nov) we have experienced every pet lovers worst nightmare when we noticed that Frank was not walking properly and was in a lot of pain. He was taken for an emergency Vets appointment and then over the course of a couple of hours his condition deteriorated and he eventually lost use of his back legs completely. After the second rushed visit to the vets he was referred straight away to a specialist for an MRI scan and emergency surgery.

Frank has been diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) which can result in complete paralysis, which is why swift action is absolutely key.

He is currently at the Specialist Vets waiting to undergo life changing treatment in order to get him back on his paws again. Unfortunately this surgery does not come cheap so we are looking for help to contribute to the £6000 of costs. Unfortunately the pet insurance that Frank had was not made clear (due to the wording) and as a result the insurance company will only cover a very small percentage of the costs - so please make sure you also take time to check and fully understand the insurance you have for your pets! Unfortunately, we have learnt the hard way.

Anyone that knows me knows how much Frank means to me - he has been my best friend for the last 5 years, and I am heartbroken to think of him being in so much pain. Any donations towards this are appreciated beyond words!
