Story
I lay awake, I pinched myself thinking it is all a bad dream. It all happened in a flash. Monday morning my mum was here Sunday she was gone. It’s only been a year and one day since cancer reared its ugly head and took my dad away. I hate you cancer, you are so mean. You ruin lives.
So hard to see my mum laid in bed semi conscious in the hospital. I stayed up all night on a vigil hoping to hold her hands and pray as she transitions. She had tears in her eyes all night. She knew the time was near. I tried to be strong for her. She fought so hard but unfortunately pancreatic adenocarcinoma took her life away. I am engulfed in a chasm of despair. But at least the cancer is no longer killing her and she is resting in peace with my dad.
My mum sadly lost her fight with cancer on the 24th of September. I can’t wrap my head round the fact that my dad too lost his fight with cancer on the 23rd of September last year. My parents were so brave and lovely parents too. They fought so hard.
I can never bring my parents back but raising money to support cancer research and to donate towards the care my mum received is something I can do to help.
