Below is the story of our friend Sophie Taylor, she was diagnosed with cancer January 2018 and is currently undergoing Chemotherapy. Sophie has got some really big challenges to overcome, in particular surgery to stop some of the cancer spreading. Sophie (and her whole family) are being so brave and positive that its inspired Me and Charlie aged 6 (my son / one of Sophie’s friends) to do something challenging and show our support for Sophie! We are going to climb Mount Snowdon (the tallest mountain in Wales) in May 2018. This will not be easy for any of us, im sure there will be some piggy backs along the way (If there is anyone big enough to carry me ;) . Sophie’s Dad and Sister Evie aged 7 are going to be joining us along with many of Sophie’s friends (ages ranging from 5-12yrs). Please donate to support Sophie’s own mental and physical challenges as she sticks her tongue out at cancer! If you cant donate please show your support by sticking YOUR tongue out at cancer and posting it on social media, Sophie loves looking through the pictures!!
Sophie’s Story -
My name is Sophie Grace Taylor, I am 4 years old and I am fighting cancer. I was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on 12th January 2018, it is in my knee, my thigh and it has spread to my lungs. Osteosarcomas are rare and even more so for someone my age. I am fighting this with as much positivity as possible and to do this I am "Taking a Sophie" and sticking my tongue out at cancer.
Please #takeasophie, upload it to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram along with the hashtag #takeasophie and #standuptocancer. It would be great if you can nominate 3 others to do the same to spread awareness and create as much positivity as possible. Follow me here - Sophie’s Journey
The journey ahead has a lot of uncertainty but it will definitely involve chemotherapy and surgery.
If you would like to donate to support my journey - Sophie’s Original crowd funding page
Any donations above what I need for my journey for things like travel and care costs and keeping family close to her. It will go towards equipment she needs along the way. In the future it will used to get her prosthetics she needs that are not covered by NHS and to support in modifying equipment so she can live as normal life as possible. Example would be a swimming prosthetic, specialised bike or cycling prosthetic. We dont know what exactly things will cost but understand that additional prosthetics are not cheap. Anything surplus to Sophie’s needs will be put towards a charity for the research, treatment and support of those affected by Osteosarcomas and children's cancer.
Thank you all,
Love Sophie xx
