Sparky is an older male horse who lives at Wythall Animal Sanctuary. He was originally rescued by the sanctuary from an older lady who was struggling to cope with all of her horses. Over the past couple of years he has been suffering on and off with multiple problems in his left eye. Unfortunately earlier last month his eye had deteriorated to the point where he was in constant pain and discomfort. Knowing this we had two choices, either to put him to sleep or to have the eye removed. We decided to give Sparky a chance and have his eye removed at a large expense to the charity. We need your help to raise the funds to help cover his vet bills. His operation alone cost £750 and with the aftercare and medication this figure has risen dramatically.
Wythall Animal Sanctuary is a non-destruct sanctuary for animals in our care. Although primarily our aim is to rehome our animals, we will keep them here long term as residents if we cannot find them a home. Due to this the sanctuary has many older animals, some of which are on ongoing medical treatment.
The sanctuary is not funded by the government and can only continue running through the donations of its kind and generous supporters. If you are able to give anything toward Sparkys cause we would be very grateful.
