Gangodawila Girls' Home is an orphanage in Colombo, Sri Lanka, housing 85 girls under the age of 18.

It currently runs primarily on public donations as the government only provide £2 per month per child (Rs20/= a day).

No refurbishments have been made to the original building since it was built in 1952. The girls' carers are currently struggling due to leaky roofs, broken floors, and rodents in the kitchen.

The infrastructure and facilities are not an environment which any child should be expected to deal with so that’s what we want to change - not just for their suitability, but for their safety.

We are intending to hire private contractors and rebuild all communal areas of the orphanage once enough money has been raised.

The living standard of these children needs to be improved. Any donation would mean so much.
