Two years ago a Tennis coached called Allwyn Crawford inititated a scheme to get adults and children with learning difficulties and special needs to take up playing some tennis, based in East Dunbartonshire. From small beginnings this group has flourished and become a community project involving over forty adults and children along with a host of volunteers, parents and carers. The project is called The Tennis Aces and has just been given disability programme award of the year in Scotland, from Tennis Scotland. Please check out our Facebook page The Tennis Aces to find out more about us. We continually strive to develop our members through sports and team bonding events. We are currently engaged in a big fundraiser in the form of a Triathlon. A 5km cycle, 5Km run and a tennis tournament makes up the event to be held on the 11th of June this summer in Kirkintilloch. Everyone will take part in the events they can do and we are looking for as much support as possible.
