I am having my head shaved, half of the money raised will go to Clare and Mark and half to The Severn Hospice.
Mark is the husband of my best friend. I have known Clare in excess of 30 years and she is s sister to me. We have another friend Michelle, we are all born two days apart in the same year Michelle, Me and then Clare, for 3 friends to come together like this through school and college makes us a phenomenon, I think. We are like triplets and I love them dearly. Clare's Husband Mark and their family have had a very trialling few years at the hands of cancer and until recently thought times were beginning to improve. However, Mark had been dealt another blow in the form of lung cancer. As people who matter dearly to me I want to help them but am often at loss as to what I can do. I don't know what his prognosis is, however, I want to give them the support to make as many special memories as they can in whatever time he has available to him.

Shaving my head on 24th November is a small way, I can attract some support and help the friends I see as family, it is my selfish way of not feeling too helpless.

2018 is also the 20th anniversary of the death of the most important man in my life ever, My dad. He also had cancer and lost his life far too young. I know the pain of this but everyday he is with me. I know he would be proud of me for doing this, even if he thought me a little mad and so I also want to do this in his memory.
