I am an adult member of Girlguiding and a Brownie Leader from Essex West and I have been lucky enough to be selected for an incredible international Guiding project next year. I have been selected to join the GOLD (Guiding Overseas Linked with Development) Europe 2018 project going to both Estonia and Georgia. This will be the first year of a new GOLD project. I will part of a team of 6 and we will spend around 10 days in each country between mid-August to mid-September 2018. As this is a new project the aims are yet to be finalised, they could include; training leaders, increasing the opportunities for girls in the community, teaching girls about self-confidence and empowerment. When I know more, you will know more.

In order to take part in this project I need to fundraise at least £1,850 to cover the cost of the project, travel, insurance and country costs. I will then also need to raise a further £600 to cover the cost of medical expenses, vaccinations and equipment for the project. Any money raised will go towards the project; none of it will be used for personal gain. Any excess money will go into the Girlguiding GOLD fund which helps with future GOLD projects.
