On 14th July 2018 I will be taking a big step outside of my bedroom and my comfort zone as I embark on an expedition to South India with Outlook Expeditions. Unlike many other trips run by schools, myself and a team of students will be challenged before we even leave because we have to raise our own funds to pay for the expedition through jobs and various fundraising events. Our parents aren’t allowed to pay for this. We also have to take responsibility for organising all our own transport, accommodation and budget whilst in India.

During this experience we will be helping out at a centre for disadvantaged children and will be helping to build a toilet block to improve the centre and working with the children who live there.

I know this is a great opportunity. I look forward to experiencing the incredible culture of India and explore a completely different world to my normal life at home.

All the money fundraised will be used to cover the cost of the 2 week trip including flights, training and accommodation. I need to raise overall £2695. My three part-time jobs will cover £1200 and I’m trying to raise the remainder through fundraising.
