Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
This year Heriot Watt University Petrobowl Team, consisting of Augustine Ojero, Prathamesh Aher , Georgy Borisochev, Anatoly Savelyev and Alexandros Patsoukis managed to qualify for the finals in US for the second time in a row, coming second in the challenging contest between European universities at East Meets West Congress recently.
Now the Team prepares relentlessly to challenge best Petroleum universities in September this year and represent Heriot Watt and the UK as the only British university competing.
PetroBowl takes place once a year at the same time as the Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE). It is currently known on an international, worldwide level as a competition which contests Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) student chapter teams against each other in a series of technical and non-technical oil and gas industry-related questions. The top 32 teams of the six SPE regions (Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, South America and Caribbean, Middle East and North America) are selected and the winners will then move onto the final contest. The finals are held at the SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, in Dallas, USA.
We are partially funded by SPE Student chapter and Scottish Oil club, but we need every little help possible in order to travel to the conference.
