    Story

This is George. The kindest and happiest boy you could ever wish to meet, a great big brother and a wonderful friend to many.

George loves the outdoors, in particular riding his bike, having adventures in the woods, and helping out on the farm of his cousins. He was very proud of raising over £100 by selling homemade poppies for the Poppy Appeal, and very recently hiked to the top of Snowdon and Pen y Fan. George loved doing karate, was an enthusiastic cadet at the Frimley & Camberley Cadet Corps. and was due to start secondary school in September.

On the 28th February 2021, George had an accident at home and suffered a severe brain injury. He spent 11 weeks at St George's hospital, after which he was moved to a specialist brain injury rehabilitation centre in Surrey.

George is fully dependant on others for all aspects of his care, including hydration, nutrition and mobility. He is currently unable to talk, is doubly incontinent and suffers from severe dystonia, a movement disorder which causes his muscles to painfully contract and spasm.

This has been devastating for George's family and friends, who are doing everything possible to aid his recovery and give him the best possible future. It is hoped George will be able to return to his family home in the new year, to continue his recovery and rehab there; however, this will require specialist equipment to support him at home and to give him the best quality of life. Without funding, this won’t be possible.

George has a long and difficult road ahead of him, but he is a strong and very determined boy who we know will keep fighting.

Your kind donations will contribute towards providing the equipment and therapy George needs in order to come home. This will make all the difference to George and his family.

A huge thanks to each and every one who has donated so far. A number of people have asked about raising the target as we reach the initial milestone so we have done that to give us something else to stretch towards with all the amazing fundraisers we have in the pipeline. These include cake sales, toy sales, school mufti days, two different bike rides and a climb of Ben Nevis. Every penny raised will make a real difference to George's future. Thank you all so much.

Many thanks to each and every one of you who has donated, shared the link, offered to help in any way. The response has been overwhelming, not just in the amount donated, but in the love and support shown for this special boy. We know George will keep fighting, so we will too. #GetGeorgeHome #TeamGeorge #KeepFightingGeorge
