After our first failed attempt at going away together at the start of the year due to Dad's treatment, we thought we now had the chance to finally go away together before Dad's big operation in a few weeks.

Everything has been booked, flights paid for, spending money and cost for hotel set aside..then Dad's new Universal Credit payments decide to deduct the vast majority of his backpayment to account for the minimal SSP he's been getting by on while going through his treatment, so all that money we had set aside to go away with has now had to cover rent, leaving us with nothing to go away with and now the prospect of paying out more just to cancel our flights.

As horrible as it feels to ask, we're left with no other option but to turn to our friends for generousity.

All I want is to make some memories with Dad and take him away for our first holiday together since I was little, and with what he's going through, there's just no way of knowing how many other opportunities I'll get.
