William Hagg is a lovely 8 year old boy. He is very bright, polite and great company. Like any other boy his age he has lots of hopes and dreams, like driving a car and visiting Disneyworld.
For a while now William has struggled with some mobility issues. His family say that he is unable to run, can often fall over suddenly and without warning, and has trouble getting up the stairs at home. Not that he ever complains about any of these things, he just gets on with his life.
He has seen various doctors and had tests but nothing could prepare his family for the news they received in November that he was suffering from muscular dystrophy. Given that William's condition is worsening over time, his family are keen to help him achieve some of his dreams NOW, at a time when he is more able to enjoy them to the full. One of these is to go to Disneyworld in the USA.
This page has been put together by friends and colleagues of William's grandmother, Val. We have got to know William since he was a baby and he is a really special little boy, he always puts a smile on our faces. He deserves a real treat and we would like to help him and his family.
If we can raise some money fast, they will be able to book a holiday for him as soon as possible, before his condition worsens.
We have raised some money already but fell short of the target. On 3rd January the EDP ran a front page article about William so we are hoping to make up the difference through this new page. Let's get William to Disney!
