Story
My family and friends have been raising money to buy, install and maintain community access defibrillators in Weardale since loosing our Dad, David Nelson in January 2015. Dad, a local builder aged 61, suffered a very sudden cardiac arrest at his home in Weardale and it took emergency services 40 mins to attend. This was too late to save him.
Since 2015 we have installed 18 defibs in Weardale in his memory and also bought a further four for schools in the dale. We aim to ensure that anyone else in our rural area has a chance of surviving a heart attack / cardiac arrest.
