Story
The World Alternative Games held the first Wheelchair Rugby 7's tournament last August where England, Wales, Scotland and The Barbarians competed for the first time together. On August 5th England Wales and Scotland will be meeting again and Scotland is keen to improve on last year's 3rd place ranking.
Rugby 7s is a fun and fast paced team sport played by both children and adults, both gender, fully inclusive to all with disabled and able bodied players, but with the amount of kit to transport and the fact that some players require assistance to transfer from their day chairs to their competative chairs tournaments can get prohibatively expensive. Simply transporting players and kit to a tournament weekend can easily cost £600.
We believe that the decision to attend a league should be made on a player's skill and not their ability to pay their way and so we are asking for your support.
Any funds raised above the costs of attending the tournament will be spent on the other weekly costs of the team - Hall Hire for pracitice (£50 per week) equipment such as leg straps (£80) or the ongoing costs of chair maintanence and repair.
Thank you.
