Our daughter Olivia currently attends the pre-school at Kirkby Stephen Primary School, where we have applied for her to go to school in September. As the town has grown over recent years, she is actually one of over 40 children that hope to get a place. If they limit the admission number there will be children living in the catchment area who would not be offered a place at the school.

The school believe that all children in Kirkby Stephen should have the chance to attend their community school. As such, the school has committed to accepting all applications and creating a space in the school which can accommodate its growing number. The school is fundraising for £50,000 to build an additional classroom, which could accommodate any age group.
