Help me raise as much as poss to buy sleeping bags and blankets. I am running as dedication to this cause. GoG do great work supporting homeless people who need a little help. They see about 150 people every week, and work tirelessly to ensure where possible the people are fed, clothed and look after the very best they can. As the weather turns in, can you imagine what it is like sleeping outside, with no sleeping bag. A sleeping bag and blanket, can ensure GoG can help the next people in Jack's situation. Occasionally on a Friday night someone gets through the GOG 'chink' of armour. Last night 1 young fella called Jack (49) got through to a few of us reducing a couple of us to tears.

Jack sleeps rough and on Thursday night was beaten up 'for fun' by a group of folk on a night out.

No sleeping bag or blanket.
No coat, hat, scarf or gloves.
He hadn't eaten for 3 days.
He had a t-shirt and a thin jacket on.
Jack didn't say much - he just cried.

We gave him as much food as he could manage. Hot drink and some items to take with him.

We had no blankets or sleeping bags left to give to Jack.

We gave as much warm clothing as we could find.

Jack has been buddied up with one of our new volunteers. Friendship, conversation and a hug we can give in abundance but we urgently need warm clothing and sleeping bags.

Last night was cold.

To have to sleep outside at any time is bad, but more so now the temperatures have dropped and after you have been beaten up 'for fun. It must be horrific.

Jack will have woken up this morning (if he got any sleep) cold, wet and hungry. No hot food or a warm drink for Jack until 10pm tonight when 1 of the churches opens to help the homeless.
