Story
Foundation to Occupation.
My name is Harry I am 17 years old and my focus along with a small group of Young Adult Leaders from Hereford & Worcester Explorer Scouts, is to build a school for the children of Marsabit.
Marsabit is located in the Eastern Province of Kenya and is surrounded by the beautiful National Park and Reserve. The town is 500 kms north of Nairobi and 200 kms south of the Ethiopian border in a green hilly area in the vast semi desert, with a population of about 5,000.
Our plan is to build a school from ‘Foundation to Occupation’ and personally by opting to go for a whole month gives me a realistic opportunity of seeing the project to completion. Other projects include, improving the quality and the harvesting of clean drinking water, teaching English and the making of re-usable sanitary ware for women.
I will be making my first Skydive and having the Big Hair Cut this summer 2018. Update: I now have no hair :)
Africa is in my DNA having lived there myself as a young 'Brit' for the first 10 years of my life. I have strong and fond memories of this wonderful but often undeveloped continent.

Marsabit receives between 200mm and 1000mm of rainfall per year, with the average precipitation being 254mm. This makes it one of Kenya's driest counties. Most of the rainfall (rainy season) is received in April and November
