    Story

    Golden Dream

In 1998, I lost my father, the bread winner of my family. Things were never the same again. It has been a story of the struggle to fulfill a golden dream: to complete my Nursing degree.

    20 Years After

The story has not changed but the light of Hope is persistently aglow. It's been 20 years of challenges, experiences, family problems and aridity. The concept of crowdfunding which i had encountered only recently has disabused my logic of dependence. I had viewed dependence as a burden may be because several patients that i was privileged to nurse emphasised that they would not to be a burden to anyone and would prefer to die. But i have now come to realise that no man is an island. The power of crowdfunding is leverage through convenient giving. we can do a little giving for others and they can do it for us.

    Nursing

Nursing is more than just a calling. It is a profession that deals with the suffering of others. As a Nurse, i try very hard to burn my empathy especially after work. A gaping wound, amputated limb, offensive cancerous breast, a neonate in distress, care for the dying and preparing the dead patient for the mortuary. All the aforementioned make it hard to burn my empathy. According to costhelper(http://education.costhelper.com/nursing-school.html), Nursing degree could gulp as much as $40,000-200,000 in the USA. In the UK, the international Nursing student spends not less than 22,000 pounds for tuition and living expenses per year. This is quite expensive especially for poor African students who have to contend with the wide gap in exchange rate.

    University of Sunderland

The first time i had admission offer to complete my nursing degree from the university of Sunderland was 12 years ago. Each subsequent year saw me reapplying and each subsequent academic session,i was offered admission. It is a one year program meant to have my nursing degree completed.

    The Acid Test

This year, just as the preceded years, i have got the admission once again. Is it possible to make it to the university of Sunderland in 2018(my student reference number is 139128622). This is the reason that i am here. The estimated cost for tuition, accommodation and living expenses is about 20,000 British pounds. It is only through your small donations that i can materialise the dream of completing my Nursing degree.

    Conclusion

If i am able to complete my nursing degree at sunderland, i would be more competent in implementing Nursing and healthcare skills. It will also enable me to serve my poor community better. Health implementation decisions at local and national level would be readily accepted by policy implementation authorities if i am able to complete my degree. Completing this degree is also a requirement for healthcare specialties like pediatric, oncology, dialysis, substance abuse, midwifery, anaesthezia, ICU, and community health Nursing. Can you give me a leap through your small donations? Thank you
