Story
The Northern Head and Neck Cancer Fund (HANC) is a very worthy cause that is close to my heart. In support of HANC I am taking part in a sponsored 100 mile cycle ride on Sunday 30th July with my son Adam.
HANC was established in collaboration with Newcastle Upon Tyne NHS Foundation Trust and they aim to:
- aid funding of Head and Neck Cancer Awareness campaigns within the Northern region
- aid the funding of additional equipment and services above and beyond what Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust can provide
- improve and enhance the Northern Head and Neck Cancer patient and carer experience
- aid research and education in the field of head and neck cancer in the Northern region.
Please visit http://www.northernhanc.org for more information.
Thank you!! :)

7 years agoA special thanks go to Keith Oilver and Jim Knight for lending their incredibly fast bikes, which helped enormously. It was all in a very good cause, Head & Neck Cancer (HANC) Charity.

7 years agoWell it was a long day, but we made it, just... Meeting at 5:30 at Tyneside for a 6:00 departure. Woke up at 6:11!!!! Broke all speed records to meet the 4th bus on the A69, what a start. After that disastrous start it all went really well, and Adam finished in one piece although he had knee problems towards the end. My body just about held out OK and we even had time to stop for a pint in Newburn. Ride started around 9:00 and we were back in Tyneside for 18:00 including stops. All in all a great experience and thanks for all the donations.
