We are 4 mothers, 2 of whom are also healthcare professionals, and we are organising a conference in Manchester for new and expectant families. This is a not-for-profit event, we are not making any money from it, and all of our sponsors are ethical companies who share our interest in evidence-based information and family well-being.
Our mission is to tackle the postnatal information that desperately needs covering for new families. To explore expectations & evidence around the early days with baby and to give new families the confidence to face the challenges ahead.
We will be looking at Understanding Me, because understanding ourselves is the first step; Understanding Baby, because babies have a lot to tell us! What do they expect? How do they behave? What is ‘normal’ sleep & how can we learn to meet their needs? And Understanding Us, because relationships are affected by the arrival of a new baby. How can we best approach these new challenges?
The event will also include breakout sessions on infant feeding, babywearing, perinatal mental health, doula care and parenting under pressure.

A combination of sponsorship and ticket sales will cover the cost of our beautiful venue & refreshments on the day, but we really want to be able to give families something special to take away with them.
We would love for you to help us provide a directory of information, as there are so many worthwhile organisations out there providing up-to-date information & invaluable support to families, but many of them are voluntary or charitable, so we want to be able to help spread their messages in a small booklet that families can keep & refer to, in place of separate leaflets that could be easily misplaced.
We would also love to be able to send delegates away with some special goodies in our Kindness bags!
