    Story

Grow to Build is an International farming and agriculture project working currently working in Uganda led by Hip Hop community artists who are working with the community to grow crops which can be sold to pay for Children's School fees for mainstream education and pay for art materials and equipment to run Hip Hop workshops in art, music, and dance in Uganda.

In Uganda, it is difficult for young people to be able to afford school fees and it is hard for the community to find ways to generate the money to cover them. There is also a need to teach young people how to work the land to grow food. Hip Hop in Uganda has been opening doors for young people and helping to raise aspirations through organisations like Kulture Future Kids, Universal Zulu Nation and Galaxy Dance Project Uganda for many years.

By donating you will be contributing directly towards making a self-generating method of raising money to pay school fees for young people whilst building important life skills and giving access to arts education.

The project also has the knock on effect that it teaches young people the techniques and skills needed to grow their own food whilst also making the benefits become self-sustaining.

Since the beginning of the project, the team in Uganda have managed to get land on which to farm and have been working to learn the skills for such activity from others around them.

Phase 1 (complete) - Purchase of tools, boots, and seeds for the beginning of the project has been fully backed.

Phase 2 (Current) - Purchase of materials to build a chicken house, bird feeders, and purchase of hens. Purchase of additional seeds and tools for casava the farming also.

The big aspiration is to one day have a Hip Hop School building/centre for the young people so they can learn Hip Hop, mainstream education and farming skills all in the same place.

Please donate and leave a message of encouragement for the Grow to Build team and youth participants.
