Story
Hi my name is Gurdas and I am student at The Kings (The Cathedral) School, Peterborough. I am very privileged to attend such a prestigious seat of learning. Sadly thousands of children around the world living in poverty are unable to receive a full and proper education. I have recently been presented with a “once in a life-time” opportunity to help make a difference to the lives of children in Uganda, Africa, and I need your help. According to UNICEF 55% of children in Uganda live in multi-dimensional poverty with limited opportunity for education. 24% live in extreme poverty with no education and zero healthcare which means many do not live to see adulthood. Raised with the Sikh ethic of selflessness and helping others less fortunate than myself, I have volunteered to go to Uganda in July 2018 during the school summer holidays in order to help children by working with established community charity projects. I will be helping build schools and deliver support to young children unable to afford a proper education, as well as improving quality of life. Long term mission objectives include building schools in deprived communities and to help young children without hope to realise and fulfil their potential through proper education and improved healthcare. The long term mission objectives of the project I will be involved with include building schools in deprived communities and to help young children without hope to realise and fulfil their potential through proper education and improved healthcare. I would help in the building of schools and classes leaving behind a long-term legacy for future generations. I thank you very much for taking the time to read my story and I would be extremely grateful if you could donate to my mission on this page and also feel free to share my story with friends and colleagues. I hope that you can help me make a difference to those less fortunate than us and change lives for the better forever.
