£25raised of £200 target by 3 supporters

Weʼre raising £200 to Set up peer support groups with Heads Up in Durham.

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Ever since first year when me and some friends set up Heads Up in Durham to raise awareness of mental health, a dream of ours was to reach a point where we could set up peer support groups.

These groups will be an additional support network for students who need them. It is something that I know I could have benefited from in my earlier university years, and I passionately believe that we need to do more for the student body and for mental health.

The groups will be run by trained group facilitators, and this is where we need to raise the money to train 4-6 students for the job! As such, I have decided that despite my 4 year hiatus in running more than 3 miles at a time, I am going to train up for a half marathon. The last time I ran a half marathon for charity was when I was 17 and only just escaping from the clutches of my eating disorder.

It feels right that I should run another one at this later stage in my recovery from bulimia. This time I'm running with more freedom and hopefully to really contribute to a cause that means the world to me!
