My sister and I are running the Edinburgh Half Marathon on 27th May this year to raise money for a very special person, my best friend's brother Andrew.

Andrew is a 16 year old young man who has Autism, Epilepsy and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome among many other medical conditions. He finds social situations and being in crowds very difficult and stressful. This has meant that he is very rarely able to visit busy areas without having extreme stress leading to shut downs. Andrew was donated a dog previously but she didn’t meet the criteria needed to become a service dog, resulting in heartache for Andrew. Andrew's family now have the opportunity to purchase and train an Australian Labradoodle, however this will cost £4500. Having a service dog will mean that if Andrew was to have a seizure the dog would be able to raise an alarm and get Andrew the help he needs. The Service Dog will also be trained to assist Andrew whilst out and about, keeping him calm and as safe as possible. Having a Service Dog will give Andrew a new level of independence, and would mean the world to him.

We have set our target for the half marathon to £1000, but we want to make as much of a dent in the £4500 as possible, so please donate whatever you can!
