Story
Since moving to Pakistan, my belief that people can change the world if they really want to, has been strengthened time and time again.
Close to where we live, there is a humble independent orphanage, where 86 orphan girls are living. But it is never referred to as an orphanage, and neither are these girls ever referred to as orphans. The centre is called Hamara Ghar - which means Our Home - and was set up by a great man called Tariq Papa (Papa isn't really his surname - I can never remember his last name, because to everyone who knows him, he is father to these 86 girls, as well as his own children.)
At Hamara Ghar, the girls are provided with the best level of education, healthy food, good living conditions, top healthcare and great clothes. Girls are encouraged to pursue their dreams. Many wish to grow up and become doctors or teachers, and Tariq Papa vows to make this happen. In school lots of these girls are coming first in their class, performing better than their classmates. The centre often arrange sport activities including regular taekwondo classes, outings and gatherings.
Girls at Hamara Ghar are really given the best, but it's not possible without financial support of generous people. Tariq Papa has invested a lot into the centre and works hard to keep sponsorships coming in, but the centre is currently running at a loss of 300,000PKR a month (that's about (2700 GBP)
It costs 10,000 PKR a month (about 78 GBP) to support one girl. The breakdown is here:
Education Expenses (Including , uniform, school shoes, stationary): Rs.3,000
Food Expenses (As per prescribed menu by nutritionist): Rs.3,200
Security, Building Maintenance + Staff Salaries: Rs. 3,800
Please help me to raise money to support them
