Weʼve raised £565 to buy a specialist outdoor cabinet for the defibrillator (AED) located at Knockendarroch Hotel. The AED will then be publicly accessible 24/7.

Story
A sponsored climb of Ben Nevis.
In order to complete my JASS (Junior Award Scheme for Schools) Gold Award I have to complete a section called 'Me and My World' which is an opportunity for me to get involved in my community, helping with things that I care about.
My parents have a defibrillator at their hotel in Pitlochry. Although it is accessible for public use during the day, it is kept inside and is therefore not accessible to the community during the night. I think it would be useful to the community if the AED was accessible to the public 24/7. In a heart emergency there is no time to waste!
If I can raise £400 to pay for a specialised, heated, outdoor cabinet, Knockendarroch Hotel has said they will pay for the installation and the electricity to heat it. I will then register the AED on various national public access AED databases.
To raise the money I am planning to climb Ben Nevis with my dad on the 19th of May. Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the UK and will be the biggest hill I have ever climbed. Any money you might donate to this cause will be much appreciated. Any excess funds raised beyond the £400 cost of the Rotaid cabinet will be donated to the British Heart Foundation.
Thanks for your support.

6 years agoHello everyone. Thank you very much for your generous donations. On Saturday my dad and I successfully climbed Ben Nevis. We started at sea level at 8.20am and reached the top at just before 1pm. By the time we got back to the car we had been on the mountain for 8 hours. The weather was amazing which was really lucky but the snow at the top was still metres deep. Thanks again for your donations which I will now use to purchase the special outdoor box for the AED. The extra £165 will be donated to the British Heart Foundation. Hamish
