Story
Here at Happy Hounds, we believe supporting our community is vitally important and, working with up to 70 animals a day over the past 6 years, we have seen how much of an impact, just spending time with an animal can have on people's lives, whether struggling with mental health problems, physical disabilities, homelessness, bereavement and many more things that people have to struggle with on a daily basis. Having the comfort of an animal close by or the distraction of having to focus on caring for their every need, can be life-changing for many people, and sadly, not everyone gets the chance to experience this due to housing restrictions or financial viability.
We believe that opening a support centre that is accessible to all, will do vital building work to bridge that void in the lives of people who most need it, whatever their situation. we aim to offer therapy and mentoring services, apprenticeships, community group facilities and more.
Raising £25,000 will help fund a venue, equipment and training resources to work with the animals and run the hub.
