Weʼve raised £26,026 to Help Leila who is fighting a rare form of cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma.

Funded on Thursday, 24th November 2022

    Story

This fundraiser is to support Leila Rose Hallam who was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma (a rare form of cancer) at the age of 6. Her wish is to travel to Disneyland once she is fit and well enough to go. Additionally, with surplus money, we would like to donate this to the Rhabdomyosarcoma clinical trial to promote awareness and progression of this type of cancer as fewer than 60 children in the UK are diagnosed with this type of cancer each year.

She has been battling this cancer since the 28th of October and it is extremely aggressive and has already spread to other parts of her body. Due to the type cancer she has, they have been unable to find her main tumour which is causing the spread, meaning it could possibly return after treatment so she will be closely monitored.

Leila's treatment will last for at least a year with a mixture of strong chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and operations.

The family wants to make Leila's journey as nice as possible for her and will eventually take her on the trip of a lifetime with family to Disney land in Florida once she is well enough to travel.

To help raise awareness Matthew and his friends will be tackling the 3 peaks challenge, hiking up Ben Nevis, Snowdon, Scafell pike in under 24 hours on the 25th of June.

Yesterday the boys, joey, Freddie, Charlie, Percy, Oliver, and also the tag along with kiddies Thomas, bobby, Olivia, and poppy walked all the way from Radcliffe to Cotgrave Manvers Arm, to raise money for Leila's cause. They absolutely smashed their target of £150, you all should be so proud of yourselves, what you have accomplished is amazing! Thank you all so much and to the parents too. Thank you to The Cotgrave Manvers Arms for feeding 20 kiddies, we truly do have such a great community.
