Story
I'm Harry and I'm really proud to have been selected to represent the UK and Horsham District Scouts at the 24th World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia USA in 2019.
The World Scout Jamboree is a huge scouting event that happens once every 4 years in a different country. It is attended by 40,000+ Scouts from over 150 countries, so to be able to represent the UK and Horsham is an amazing opportunity. This time it will take place in West Virginia, USA. It will be hosted by the Boy Scouts of America, Scouts Canada, and the Scout Association of Mexico, and take place in Summer 2019.
The cost is around £3,500 - this will cover the cost for me to go but also subsidises Scouts from poorer countries to attend who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford to go.
I will be fundraising over the next 18 months (right up to the day we set off!) and would be very grateful if you were able to support me with a donation.

6 years agoSo Harry's in Unit 67 and their mascot is a bear called Mr T N Crumpet (tea and crumpet - get it?). The Unit have had their first day together to start to get to know each other, by things like speed Scouting (like speed dating but different) and team building games. Harry also applied to be a communications champion for the Unit and was successful! There are two of them who will need to attend some training and they will be helped and supported by a further 4 Scouts. Other fund raising is going well, particularly the cake sales at my work.

6 years agoIt's getting really real now! We had our first meeting today as the West Sussex contingent, and I can now look forward to the training camps with my unit of 36 Scouts and 4 Leaders. We have a bear as a mascot (who is un-named as yet) and we were given our jamboree scarf -
