Harold Davis played for Rangers between 1956-1964.

He was the archetypical Ranger, a hero in every sense of the word. He demanded 100% effort from himself and from his team-mates in every single match. He did not suffer slackers or fools, no matter how big heir reputation.

In 2007 Harry signed up to be patron and subsequently president of the Rangers Supporters Erskine Appeal, a fan led body which has seen the Erskine home benefit to the Sum of over £800,000+

Harry and his wife Vi attended countless fundraisers for the Erskine Home and never asked for a penny in return. Not even bus-fares or hotel costs.

In his Golden Years Harold was inducted into the Rangers Hall of Fame

He received a peace Medal from the South Korean Government

He won the Sunday Mails Scottish Hero Award (Senior Cat)

and

had a room named after him at the Erskine Home.

I have spoken with Mrs Davis on several occasions since Harold's passing and I feel that we as a fan base could help her meet the financial burden she has encountered in recent times by helping to cover the cost of the Funeral Service Burial and Headstone

I have estimated this cost to be around £6,500 - £7,000

Even if our target is not met, what ever is raised will be donated to help Mrs Davis with the costs.

She had not asked for this page and at this time is completely unaware of the gesture.
