My friend Hannah started Tumaini Children's Charity 15 years ago. I met her last year and she shared with me some accounts of the incredible children and teenagers she raises money for. Hannah explained to me that culturally, when the girls turn 11, if they don't have a school to attend, they are sold to marry old men. I felt desperate for these children, so I decided to shave my head to raise money. We have land to build a high school but there is a long way to go before the school is built.
