You may have seen the story of Hassan al-Kontar, a Syrian refugee who’s been trapped in Kuala Lumpur airport for four months now with no way out. Currently Hassan is living in the arrivals terminal and having to listen to the airport tannoy system 24 hours a day, meaning he barely gets any sleep. He doesn’t get anything to eat other than two Air Asia chicken and rice meals a day. If you’ll read the interview you’ll see him describe the noise in the airport from the announcements etc. as torture. He’s currently hoping for the results of an emergency application to the Minister of Immigration in Canada which is being pushed by a Canadian volunteer group - please sign and share the petition by the way:

I really want to get him a pair of good noise-cancelling headphones for while he waits in the airport, as it could be months yet and he doesn’t get any quiet or chance for sleep. It might not sound like the most important thing in the world, but his Twitter page is so upsetting - he’s feeling very abandoned by the world and unable to get any peace - it would be so great if we could boost his mood and make his time in the terminal a little easier. As we fundraise for the headphones we'll we looking for someone to courier them to the right part of Kuala Lumpur airport - stay tuned for details!
