    Story

    Dear Supporters,

We would like to welcome you to The International School of Moscow’s 'Walk for Melisa' page.

In 2017, our Year 12 student Melisa Erdem was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and was battling for her life in the intensive care unit of an Istanbul hospital. Happily, Melisa was released from intensive care. However, living with this condition means that Melisa will be tied to hospitals for the rest of her life.

The only solution in order for Melisa to live a normal life is for her to have a heart transplant. We have recently learned that Melisa has an infection. Doctors are now advising that she needs a heart transplant over the course of the next four months. Operations such as this are long, complicated and extremely expensive.

As a school, we have an illustrious history of charity fundraising. As a treasured member of our ISM family, we would like to enable Melisa to live a normal, happy life with a new heart. For this reason, we will be focussing all of our forthcoming charity fundraising activities to raise the necessary 1,100,000 Euros that will allow Melisa to undergo a heart transplant.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far to our #HeartforMelisa fund. We have already raised over 600,000 Euros since the start of our campaign. Our aim now is to raise the additional 500,000 Euros needed for Melisa's heart transplant

On Thursday June the 10th and Friday June the 11th, my friends and colleagues, Chris Charlton, Ian Storey and myself will be attempting to walk 100 kilometres in just 24 hours.

We will be starting our walk at our Rosinka Campuses and ending it at our Krylatskoe campuses.

Please click on this link to see the route that we will be taking over the course of the 24 hours: Walk for Melisa Route

We would be extremely grateful if you would be willing to sponsor us in order to help us raise the remaining money for Melisa's heart transplant

Nothing would give us greater satisfaction than helping Melisa, one of our own, obtain a new heart and live a normal, happy life.

Thank you very much for your support.

Mr Paul Keach - Principal, The International School of Moscow.

Mr Ian Storey - Head of Secondary School and Krylatskoe Upper Campus, The International School of Moscow

Mr Chris Charlton - Head of Rosinka Campuses, The International School of Moscow.
