Children in need is here but you could help children in your own community by helping us raise money for our cause.

Hebburn Sea Cadets offers great opportunities to the young people of South Tyneside and we are trying to raise funds so that we can install a jetty or pontoon at our unit so that we can offer these children a wonderful and exciting experience as well as practical training that will last a life time.

Hebburn sea cadets was awarded Royal Yatching Association Training Centre status last year but getting the cadets afloat is proving to be a problem for us.

Currently the cadets cannot go afloat for very long and this is due to the tide. When the tide is out, access to and from the water is impossible so activities afloat cannot then take place. This is where a pontoon or jetty would help and you could make that dream a reality by dropping a few pounds into our pot to help OUR CHILDREN IN NEED.

Our Cadets come from a range of family situations. We have cadets that have physical and mental health problems and cadets that have underlying welfare needs and we are trying to give these youngsters a better outlook on life by offering them a wide range of activities and events for them to get involved with.

Being on the river and in charge of a boat is an exciting prospect for any youngster and that is exactly what we do here at the cadet unit. We are fortunate to have been loaned the use of boats as shown in our image and the cadets love to get afloat and learn new skills. We do however need a safe and accessible point of entry to the water for both our able bodied and disabled cadets; a pontoon or jetty is needed urgently and you can help...
