Story
1 in 4 people in the UK each year suffer from a mental health problem, with anxiety and stress topping the bill. Wrongly there is still a lot of stigma attached to mental health, and many people dont ask for help but Mind is a charity in England & Wales that helps at a local level, giving those affected by mental health problems somewhere to go and get help.
We‘ve both been affcted by mental health as have our friends and families. Some time ago we quit the “rat race” to visit amazing countries and see wonderful things, it was a true privilege so we thought it was time we gave something back.
Unfortunately we have no talents but we can walk, so we’ve bought some new boots and plan to walk from John O Groats to Lands End. It’s about 1200 miles so our target is a £ a mile.
We will fund all our own costs & distribute the money raised to local Mind centers we cross along the way, giving directly to them instead of the money just going into the giant charity machine. (We’ll also donate directly to Scottish mental health centres we see along the way as Mind doesn’t operate there)

6 years agoHi Everyone, sorry it’s been so long for an update. We didn’t actually get the money from this website until the end of Sept (we gave away our own money along the way as we knew you were all good for it 😂) We wanted to go an visit some more individual Mind locations & give the money directly but unfortunately Tina’s feet are in ruins and we have been trying to come to grips with our lives out after such along time traveling. So we just donated the whole amount that was left online now. Thank you all so very very much. Uggs & Fishes to you all

6 years agoSorry we keep forgetting to put up the photos...the walking must be affecting our memory 🤪. We donated £250 of your lovely money to Mind Taunton, they have a helpline that needs funding as well as everything else they do, so this was much appreciated by Jenny & Nicky

Hello, we are Neil & Tina, a middle aged couple who have been traveling the world for a few years after 20 years at work and completing a Masters. We have backpacked since we met at Uni & see life as an adventure, which we try to relish one step at a time
