Hi everyone

While rescuing & fostering street dogs and cats in Goa in 2009, I met the inspirational Atul Sarin.

Originally from London, Atul lives full-time in Goa and runs the beautiful Hotel Soraya, but was struck by how desperate the stray animals were once the tourist season had ended and the monsoon rains started. So, he started a 'Monsoon feeding' programme for the packs of beach dogs in North Goa.

Eight years later, WAG (Welfare for the Animals of Goa), his grass-roots NGO has grown so much that whilst he still feeds packs of dogs every monsoon, he also now rescues strays for sterilisation under an ABC (Animal Birth Control) programme, has a full-time Vet, a clinic, a cow shelter, and most recently a beautiful St. Bernard called Bhallu who was abandoned and needed emergency surgery.

WAG relies on help from volunteers, so every couple of years I go to help out whether it is feeding a baby calf or a baby pup. WAG also relies completely on donations so we always donate the generous Christmas tips from our Animal Kind clients.

This year though, on the 19th June, I have decided to walk the length of Hadrian's Wall (84 miles in 6 days) in the north of England to raise much needed money for WAG, so Atul and his team can continue his good work through the monsoon and beyond.
