    Story

So I know this is shameful but its pretty much a last resort :(

In 2016, my husband and I were trying our best for a baby. It didn't look like it was happening for us so we were referred to a fertility clinic. Whilst waiting for our appointment I decided to find a new job as the one at the time was causing a lot of stress and I thought this could be one of the reasons for lack of baby. Fertility appointment happened in July, we both were convinced it wasn't going to happen for us that year. I started a new job at the beginning of August and within one week into the role I discovered I was pregnant! (around 5-6 weeks!) Success!
    (Due date April 4th 2017)

I continued with my new job as normal for a few more weeks but then started to struggle. My role required a lot of traveling to different cities and doing some manual work. There was no where else within the company I could go (without moving all the way to London) so I decided along with my employers that it was best to leave and find another role.

Sadly this didn't quite go to plan, I was unable to get a new full-time role (being pregnant is considered a risk it seems) and due to not being with a company long enough I am only eligible for statutory maternity pay (£139.40pw), which doesn't cover my share of the rent or bills. I'm currently doing temporary work but this is just about covering my outgoings so I'm struggling to save any money for leave.

I know I'm effectively begging here and there are far more worth while causes , but I would really like to spend more than a month with my new baby before having to go back to work! Even the tiniest bit of help towards keeping us afloat would be amazing...

Thank you to those who contributed to my maternity leave fund, I cannot thank you enough. Robin would thank you too but is currently in the land of dreamy awesomeness. Thanks again, we really do appreciate it xxx

I'm now 37 weeks! Crazy right? Things are going well baby wise, measuring up good and doing what he's meant to be doing. Week before last I did manage to get a contract job at the same place that made me redundant a few years back, I know the irony. I'm currently working there until Tuesday 21st and then that's me done, I will finally take the time to relax before he arrives. I have had my maternity allowance confirmed which is a bonus, one thing off my mind at least, but if you'd still like to help then that would be very much appreciated :)

I'm now 30 weeks! Thank you to those who have contributed to my maternity leave so far, it's so very much appreciated. I've been told that my current temporary position has been extended to the end of February which is good. Fingers crossed I can find something for March. Really wish I could start my leave when I'm 37 weeks (Also my birthday) but I fear baby might come late and it would be silly to use any savings I do have before baby is even born.

Had my 28 week check up yesterday, all going good and baby measuring up well. A huge thank you from baby and myself to all of you who have donated so far, it really is appreciated! Went along to a maternity yoga session last night as a +1, thank you Cat :) Made me realize I need to have more me time and try and relax so not to stress baby too much, saying that he did like to kick me the whole way through the relaxing part of the class! Picture of a new tee I got, can't wait to return to roller derby later this year :)
