Music has always been a big part of my life, and through some of my difficult times I find solace in music. Singing has been my outlet since i was a child and it brings me joy. After teaching myself to play the guitar and read and write music from the age 13 I fell more and more in love with music. I have recently been accepted into BIMM (British and Irish Modern Music Institute) to study a diploma in Popular Music performance (Vocals) , I am thrilled to have a place at the institute however my dream of attending may not become a reality unless I can pay the tuition fee of £5000. Even if I receive a scholarship that will only cover £1000 of the total tuition fee.

Family and friends will know that I lost my father in 2010, when I was 12 years old, he was the main breadwinner of our family and since his death my mother has taken that role however her salary is not enough for her to be able to pay for my fees as well as looking after my younger sister among other responsibilities. She has worked really hard to send my younger sister and I to private school, where i also worked hard and received a good scholarship.

I am currently working a retail job to try to save as much as I can but I would really appreciate any help and support I can get to attend BIMM and get closer to my dream of a career in music. If i am able to attend BIMM I intend to fully immerse myself in the course and I am certain that I will gain from every aspect of it. Being able to grow in the breadth and depth of my musical abilities would allow me to explore the musical world from different perspectives and give me access to many musical opportunities.My aspiration in life is to produce, write and perform music and I believe that this course is a key stepping stone on my journey to achieving this goal.

As I reflect on my life and my passion for singing, I am drawn to the feeling of warmth, comfort and joy that singing and hearing people sing gives me, this is something that I hope to use my voice to give to others. In the words of Etta James "The only thing better than singing is more singing.”
