I was so shocked when the emergency vets rang me bank holiday late afternoon to tell me they found a metal bullet in our kitten’s muscle and caused a severe fracture to her leg. Her leg may have to be amputated if they can’t save it.

How are people so cruel to any animal?!!!!!!!!! 😢😡

It happened between 8am and 9am on the 7th May 2018 in Morton, Bourne in Lincolnshire.

Dusky is just under a year old kitten whom we rescued back in February from Lincs Ark Animal Welfare charity and we helped rebuild her confidence and she was very keen to play outside. If she survives this she will be scarred for life. Lincs Ark were very professional, informative and supportive with Dusky’s transition to her new home with us. They genuinely care and have foster pet carers who take in rescue animals into their own homes rather than board them in rows of kennels, find them online.

I have learnt that another cat called Smokey has lost his eye due to a metal pellet being fired at him on the 28th April 2018 only 4 doors down from me! Hence the police and RSPCA are involved.

Who ever did this I hope karma bites them on the ass big time!!!!!

Dusky is currently under expert care and supervision of Best Friends Vets Group in Peterborough, Cambs.

There will be a reward offered to whomever comes forward to the police and assist them with a definitive prosecution of the attacker.

So sad, as you can see in my snapshot of her Xray, the bullet has made a significant impact on the humerus bone in the front right leg. It is going to be a very complicated procedure and the vets are going to keep the bill as low as possible including the follow up post op treatment.

Really hope Dusky comes home with 4 legs and not 3. Trying to maintain faith. I hope Smokey recovers well soon too.
