Weʼve raised £860 to help rebuild Matylda's family home after an arson attack!

    Story

Matylda and her husband Daniel, both originally from Poland, have spent the past 11 years living and working hard in the UK trying to save all the money they could to fulfil their dream to build a home in Poland for them and their two children.

Working long shifts and often not seeing each other very much, Matylda and Daniel managed to save up enough to start building their family home in their home village in Poland, Korczyn. The work on the house progressed slowly from year to year as they put all their spare money into creating a future for their family.

However, in just one night all of their plans and dreams have been shattered by an arson attack on 26th/27th September. The house is now completely destroyed. This means Matylda and her family have lost all their savings, everything they’ve worked so hard for the last 11 years.

The worst part of this family’s tragedy is that the house couldn’t be insured because of Polish regulations requiring a roof covering. The works on the roof finished on Tuesday evening and the house was set on fire that night just before Matylda’s plan to insure it first thing on Wednesday morning.

Matylda is a good friend of mine and a very warm and caring person who is always willing to help others. I would like to be able to help her and her family to rebuild their future. The family is devastated and Matylda let me set up this page on her behalf.

Please if you are able to make any contribution to this cause (every little helps), it would be greatly appreciated. If not, please share this story as widely as you can and there may be someone able to help.

All of the money raised will go towards rebuilding Matylda’s home.

Thank you very much - your support will make a huge difference to a young family's life.
