As some of you may know, a pupil from our Sudbury Primary School community was admitted into hospital in December 2017 with meningococcal septicemia. Ansh, a pupil who started with us in Reception, has been incredibly poorly, having had to spend a long time in intensive care and has had to have both legs amputated from below the knee due to the severity of this illness.

Ansh has a big team around him at the hospital he is in, including plastic surgeons, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, ​consultants, nurses and doctors to ensure he recovers from this illness.

Staff from the school make visits to see Ansh and his mum and dad at the hospital. Ansh has always had a huge fondness of dinosaurs and nature and during this long period of recovery he continues to enjoy reading books about animals. It is a pleasure to read such books with him as his face lights up with a brilliant smile and he always has interesting questions to ask too.

There is a long journey ahead with regards to Ansh and his recovery. As a school and community, we would like to be able to offer support and help to the family wherever we can. Therefore, we have set up this Just Giving Crowd Funding page to help raise money for the family as they continue to support and care for their son with his recovery and rehabilitation.
