You go to places like Turkey knowing that there are a million stray animals that leave you feeling helpless and heart broken whilst you are there.
Many of the cats around our hotel were scared, desperate and hungry, untrusting of humans, afraid to be touched or get too close.

On our second day of our week holiday in Kusadasi Turkey, Caramel found us. She was a sorry state, missing her fur, thin, with great big bleeding scabs on her neck, being chased by a heard of other hotel cats, who were batting her around and fighting her between them. It was clear she was starving and in desperate need of some help.
Despite all of this, this playful youngster jumped right up on our sun beds and accepted some love. To our surprise she instantly settled down and went fast asleep! It was love at first sight for us, and we couldn't believe this poor little girl had entrusted us, after the life she has led.

We knew there must be more to the story of this sweet girl, and after meeting Esgi, a hotel office worker, she explained to us that despite Caramel being under a year old, she had a litter of kittens just 4 weeks old in the office of the hotel. After giving birth she had suffered with mastitis and Esgi had took her and paid from her own wage for her to be operated on for her infected milk ducts to be removed.
There was complications with the surgery, leaving Caramel infected and needing to stay at the vets for 2 weeks.
After this time had passed she lost the scent of her kittens and sadly rejected them.

We quickly decided we wanted to give this scared girl a forever home, and was incredibly lucky to be put n touch with Kusadsi Paws And Claws who are now kindly assisting us by fostering and aiding us with the necessities to get Caramel to the UK. This is a NON PROFIT CHARITY.

Unfortunately this will not be straight forward as Caramel is still very ill, fighting infection, mange and ringworm.

Our estimated costs are £1000 to complete her care and get her home
