Story
This is Dipsy. Dipsy has been a stray all her life, she is an elderly lady, cared for by the community, but now she is sick. £300 will cover Dipsy’s immeadiate care: vet bills, tests and medication (bloods £48.97, fluids £80 minimum, metacan painkillers £39.50, overnight stay £18.85, any injections, medicine or treatment will make the bill close to £300). Dipsy has no teeth, so any spare money will be used for soft food. Dipsy was taken to the vet last Thursday, lethargic and severely dehydrated, she was described as “emaciated stray”. The transformation from receiving fluids and pain killers has been amazing, Dipsy has more energy and her eyes are bright. But there was no money for the vital tests and medicine she needs. Money is tight for the community, but they have kept this girl alive, putting money aside to buy her food. If we could raise £600+, this would cover longer term care, up to 6 months of medicine and a future vet check up, bedding, soft food, her new favourite liquid treats and maybe even a soft rubber brush! Even though Dipsy is grubby, she does clean herself as best she can! This friendly, characterful, purry old girl deserves to live a pain free, healthier life in the community who loves her. Please can you help? Any amount you can give will make a world of difference to Dipsy. Scroll down the Updates to Show More photos of Dipsy and more of her story.

5 years agoThe vet bill to remove rotten teeth from below the gum line. Two vets refused Dipsy after faffing and messing me around and the local vet had broken dental equipment until recently. But they successfully treated her. She could not have gone on the way she was and it was worth the risk of anaesthetic, Now she is wolfing food down!

5 years agoI wrote to lots of companies asking for help and some were good enough to come back to me. Natures Menu and Lily’s Kitchen were very lovely and I would like to support them as way of thanks. High meat content food is vital for all cats and Dipsy now needs soft food like this. So thank you Nature’s Menu for the sachets (she ate one so I don’t have a photo of that one). Dipsy is such a thankful cat and loves her food. Now she is healing she can eat so much more easily. See two updates below. Thank you everybody!

5 years agoFinally!!! The lovely people at Lily’s Kitchen sent some food for Dipsy quite a while ago, but she refused to eat it. It is high meat content and good quality and I kept it just incase. Since Dipsy’s dental operation she is now wolfing it down!! Thank you so much Lily’s Kitchen, a pain free Dipsy finally gets to enjoy the samples you were so good to send!! She loves them!

An animal lover, I moved to the area in September last year, looking for work, and have since been temping sporadically for the NHS in admin. I’ve been monitoring Dipsy since winter, ever since she ran up to me for pats. And through her, met the nice people who feed her.
