Sean is my much loved 13 year old nephew who tragically and unexpectedly suffered a cardiac arrest on the 6th November. It took kind bystanders, emergency services and amazing staff at QEUH 55 minutes to start his little heart again. His brain scans showed significant damage due to a lack of oxygen to the brain. The doctors didn't expect Sean to be able to breath on his own. However after 4 weeks in ICU, Sean showed his fighting spirit and has managed to breath independent of life support.

Since then, Sean has made miraculous progress and has progressed from being minimally conscious to fully conscious and has started to speak.

He is fully aware that he is in hospital and has managed to communicate that he is desperate to come home.

Sean faces many challenges in life - his vision is affected as well as his mobility. He needs his home adapted to give him living and washing facilities on a ground level before he can live at home with his mum - where he belongs.

Sean has continued to confound the doctors expectations. We the family, feel he would be able to flourish in the right environment out with the confines of a hospital ward.

Please help Sean get home and have the best possible quality of life which Sean deserves and needs .
