Story
Harry has a very rare bone disease that affects just one spot of his right shin. It's a bit of a mouthful, called: "Congenital Pseudarthrosis" It means his leg is more likely to break than those of other children. What's worse, once broken, it's very difficult to mend because the disease affects the healing process. To put that in perspective, Harry broke his leg in 2012 and it's only as of this February (2017) that the specialist Doctors have managed to get it to start healing properly. To help the healing, Harry has had to have very complicated surgery at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital where the surgeons have used special metal frames to support the healing bone. As a result of these special methods, Harry has put up with an awful lot of discomfort as I'm sure many of you at Charles Kingsley will already know. What Harry wants to do is help other children with the same challenges by raising funds to help pay for Doctors to find out all they can about this rare condition. That way, they will be better prepared to treat children like Harry in the future. Harry would like to thank everyone at Charles Kingsley School and St Mary's Church choir for helping him on his healing journey. That help has come in many forms and he wanted us to acknowledge your kindness and generosity.

Harry underwent his first surgical procedure at 18 months and has had 14 general anaesthetics since. His condition is rare and poorly understood since there is no pharmaceutical investment/payoff in researching it. This is about funding research to address that vacuum.
