Royal Air Force College Cranwell – Non-Commissioned Aircrew and Controllers Initial Training Course No 277 (NCACITC 277) Charity Fundraising for Helpringham Primary School

As part of our course, cadets from the Non-Commissioned Aircrew and Controllers Initial Training Course No 277 will be holding a social evening on Tuesday 13 November 2018 which will be raising funds for Helpingham Primary School in Sleaford. In addition to this the cadets will be taking part in Exercise ULTIMATE CHALLENGE.

The Course spent a Community Weekend at the School assisting with some renovations; painting and decorating the interior of the school, as well as work on the playground and school field. During the last 2 years, the School has moved up from an Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (OFSTED) rating of ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’ across all areas of the OFSTED grading system. Helpringham Primary School must stretch an incredibly tight budget a long way to provide for its pupils. This has prompted NCACITC 277 cadets to make Helpringham Primary School the focus of our fundraising event.

Exercise ULTIMATE CHALLENGE is a 3hour ‘Battle’ PT session in which NCACITC and officer cadets compete in teams. The session begins with a series of demanding relay races and exercises using heavy training equipment. The relay phase is immediately followed by a 10km race in which teams carry a stretcher and weighted dummy. The event is a gruelling test of aerobic fitness, physical robustness, strength and endurance. Above all, it tests cadet’s motivation, determination and war-fighting spirit.
