On the night of the 11th of August a storm ripped through the north west of Poland. The power of this storm was unprecedented and has not been seen in the country before. It brought with it severe damage to property and infrastructure. The Grochowski's run a small pig farm in the village of Sosno. The storm has irreparably damaged the roofs of the barn, pig sty and house. Because of this the house has suffered extensive water damage, the barn needs torn down and the pig sty needs a complete new roof. There is also major damage to this years crops and stores of grain. The family are extremely hard working and depend fully on the income of this farm but have unfortunately been let down by the local authorities and insurance companies for any kind of financial help. Although the damage of the storm might seem temporary this has a very real and long lasting affect for the livelyhood and income for the forseeable future. It will not be possible for the Grochowski's to continue operating the farm if something isn't done quickly. Money is needed for the replacement of the roofs and to help keep operatitions at the farm going until they are back on their feet again. Even a small contribution will go towards helping them get building materials and equipment, to help them rebuild their lives and continue to live in their family home.
